The research activities of the Optics Department in telecoms cover a wide range of domains, from functions and systems to network architectures including dynamic and static compensation and monitoring functions such as :
gain/channel equalization, polarization mode dispersion compensation and PMD Emulator and Optical Performance Monitor prototypes (with the support of the PERDYN platform);
optical node (OXC, ROADM) design and modelling, with a particular emphasis on crosstalk and filtering aspects and their impact on the transport network transparency;
